Schedule Changes

You may have noticed that EDGE 2019 sessions are an hour-long rather than an hour and fifteen minutes like in previous years. We decided to shorten sessions as there is a general movement in conferences to deliver presentations and sessions that last a maximum of one hour. This means that all breaks are now 15 minutes longer so you will have added time to connect with colleagues and forge new relationships.

In the spirit of continuously evolving and adapting to the changing landscape of supply chain, EDGE 2019 has new and exciting offerings! Our goal is to bring you relevant and timely content and programs to make the best of your EDGE experience.

We will be running a pilot version of a new program this year called EDGE-in-Action. This initiative is designed to help new attendees get the most out of their conference experience, and to put the ideas and skills they learn at EDGE into action throughout the year.

Program participants will be sorted into small “Action Groups” that will meet briefly 1-2 times a day during the conference. These groups will serve as built-in networking circles (particularly helpful for those attending alone or for the first time) and as brainstorming and learning partners. The groups will focus on what participants most want to learn at EDGE, and how they can put what they learn into action post-conference. Action Group leaders will serve as EDGE and CSCMP experts, willing to answer questions and guide attendees on the best way to maximize their EDGE ROI.

As this is our first year, we have only opened the program to a small number of new attendees, but will roll out a larger EDGE-in-Action program in 2020, based on the feedback from participants.

Moderator Video Contest

For EDGE 2019, CSCMP held an exciting video contest to select the moderator for the highly anticipated keynote panel 'The Gig Economy and the Millennial's Journey to Change the World.'

For the first round of the contest, we received 13 video submissions from contestants eager to moderate the panel. From the 13 submissions, 3 finalists were selected: Kristen Daihes of Opex Analytics, Tom Clark of Direct Recruiters and Felisa Higgins of Smeal College of Business. The finalists were asked by the EDGE Committee to create a second video moderating a mock panel discussing millennial entrepreneurship, the changing workforce and the gig economy tied into supply chain. The Committee voted a second time and selected Felisa Higgins as the winner of the EDGE 2019 Moderator Video Contest! You can watch Felisa's video below.
